Artists Statement

My recent work has involved three things the process of watercolour painting;
the interpretation of memory; the language of colour and mark.
I paint memories of atmosphere, form, colour and place using the special qualities of watercolour and gouache.

Biography

1962 -1967 - Edinburgh College of Art
1967 - Awarded Andrew Grant Travelling Scholarship to France and Italy
1968 - Elected professional member of Society of Scottish Artists
1971-1972 - Designer Royal Museum of Scotland
1972 -1981 - Art Editor with Chambers, the Edinburgh publisher
1981 - continuing work as an artist and designer
Regular exhibitor with the Royal Scottish Academy and at galleries in Edinburgh (The Open Eye), Glasgow and throughout the UK.
